Fluttery Feeling In the Lower Abdomen

What is this fluttery feeling in the lower abdomen??

I had a hysterectomy 10 years ago, uterus and ovaries are gone.

Just had 2 bouts of antibiotics for back to back urinary tract infection which I assume is gone as it's been 3 weeks since last antibiotic.

Woke up a week ago with spasm like pain in lower abdomen, it went away after urination, but I had never felt that before. Can the bladder spasm??

2-3 days ago I began to have this fluttery sensation in my lower abdomen. It is not painful, it feels like early pregnancy but I'm not pregnant.

When I put my hand on my abdomen I can feel and even see the movement like a baby would move!

Could this be parasites?? It's freaking me out and happens off an on all day long.

Hi Karen,

I'm not a doctor so, of course, I can't give medical advice. :) But I can share my thoughts on your situation and maybe offer some suggestions for your consideration.

It's quite possible that you are experiencing intestinal parasites, perhaps candida overgrowth, or another form of parasite.

You know you already had some bacteria because of the urinary tract infection. The fact that you went through two courses of antibiotics means that your immune system would be weakened even further.

Unfortunately when antibiotics go for the bad bacteria in your body, they also take out the good ones. If you aren't diligent about replenishing the friendly bacteria with supplemental probiotics, you often end up worse off in the long run.

The natural occurring yeast (candida) in your body starts to multiply like crazy and you can end up with a variety of health issues and symptoms.

If it were me, I'd start with a gentle cleanse like Herbal Fiberblend as well as daily supplementation of probiotics (Florafood, etc.).

I'd also make some dietary changes for a while. Mainly, cut out sugary and processed foods and drinks. Sugar and certain types of foods are yeast feeding and don't do you any favors if you are trying to fight off a yeast infection.

Of course, I'm not sure the fluttery feeling in the lower abdomen is definitely parasites. You may want to consider seeing your GYN if you continue to have issues, just to be on the safe side.

To your good health!
Angie
