Reflux and Constipation

by Sutina
(Kuala Lumpur)

My 15 month old has reflux and he is frequently constipated. He eats well...fruits and veges and takes no dairy product or rice. He has one or two bowels a day yet his stools are hard and stomach distended. Help!

Hi Sutina,

Reflux and constipation is not terribly unusual but is difficult to deal with when it is your little one that is suffering.

Are you able to get raw organic apple cider vinegar in your area? I usually recommend Bragg's Apple Cider Vinegar, but I don't know what brands you are able to purchase in your region.

(It is really important that the apple cider vinegar you use is unfiltered and unprocessed. Processed apple cider vinegar does not have the health benefits of raw vinegar and may even do more harm than good.)

Try putting a half a teaspoon of apple cider vinegar in your little boy's water bottle. This should help the problem with the bloating, , and constipation.

Another suggestion to try is giving him some organic yogurt to eat. Fresh organic yogurt contains natural probiotics that help aid in digestion.

Hope one of these suggestions is helpful to you.
Kind regards,
Angie
