Skin Parasite

by Karen

My 11 year old daughter found a dead bug in her navel. It looks like a tiny slug with orange/brown hairs. Any idea if it's a skin parasite or what it is?

Hi Karen,

I sure don't know what this bug is off the top of my head. Was it attached to her skin or just "trapped" in her navel like a piece of lint?

Did she feel like she had been bitten? Does she have a rash or any other reaction that you can tell?

If she seems fine, I'd probably put some tea tree oil or garlic oil and rub it in and on the navel and just wait and see if she has any further difficulties.

Wish I could tell you more.

~Angie
