Spasms In My Stomach

by Brenda C
(Bristol, Virginia)

I have spasms in my stomach quite a bit. Right now I have a lot of pain in my right lower back, under my ribs. It has been constant for about 4 days.

Could I be having a problem with my colon? I have no stomach pain. Just back pain.

Hi Brenda,

I'm a little confused because you said you are having stomach spasms but no pain in your stomach. Is that correct?

Pain in your lower back like that could be your kidneys, and you may have a kidney infection.

It's also possible that it could be intestinal (your colon) but it's nearly impossible for me to simply guess.

If you are still in pain, it would be worth going to your local doctor or clinic for a check. If it is something serious, you don't want to let it go.

A kidney infection is painful but can be easily cleared up with proper care. A doctor will probably prescribe antibiotics in that case, but if you do take them, be sure to take some probiotics, too.

Do you remember eating anything you usually don't right before you started having the problem? Have you changed anything the last few days in your diet that could be causing severe intestinal pain?

If you see a doctor and can't get any help, you may want to consider a digestive cleanse. If there is something in your stomach or digestive tract that is causing this pain and discomfort, it will likely help alleviate it.

Sorry I can't be more help. I hope you are feeling better soon.

To your good health!
Angie
