About Head Lice
My daughter has head lice for a long time, 2-3 years. I have been treating it all this time with different medicines. Can you tell me what can I do to help my daughter she gets upset I get upset I need to do something about this. Please can you tell me what to do? You poor dear! Yes, I can imagine that your daughter is so tired of the treatments for head lice and the whole ordeal of trying to get rid of them. It's no fun for you either! What I would suggest is that you try the olive oil method - every 4 days for 3 weeks. That should be long enough to get all the lice and all the eggs that might hatch over the time frame so that you can cover the entire life cycle of the lice. Just cover her head and hair completely with olive oil (the cheapest kind will do fine). Wrap a towel around her head and let her sleep like that. In the morning you can wash it out with a good shampoo or even dish soap if you have trouble getting all of the oil out. Repeat the process every 4 days until the lice are completely gone (about 3 weeks). Of course, you will want to wash her bedding and pillow cases, etc. on the mornings after the olive oil treatment so that she isn't re-infesting herself by any little critters that have managed to escape the olive oil. The reason this works when lice medications have not is because lice have built up a tolerance to the chemicals used to treat them. However, the olive oil smothers them.
