Constipation During And After Traveling

by A.D.

Is it normal to have irregular bowel movements and constipation during and after traveling out of the country?

Before traveling abroad to Spain for a month, I had very regular bowel movements. I would usually go two to three times a day on average.

When I got to Spain, I instantly became constipated (something that I have never experienced before). I was there for a month and could only move my bowels once every three to four days.

I am back in the States now, and have been for about two weeks, but am still having trouble making regular bowel movements.

I have felt bloated and constipated, and really hate the feeling. I am able to move my bowels once every two to three days--which is very different than what I am used to!

I eat plenty of fruit, vegetables, and fiber, drink lots of water, and exercise regularly, but seem to still have this constipation problem.

My diet is back to normal - as it was before I went out of the country. I am only twenty years old. Is this problem of constipation during and after traveling normal?

Is there anything I can do to get back to my normal cycle or should I seek a doctor's advice for more specifics. I would really appreciate any advice!

Hi A.D.,

Constipation while traveling is quite normal, particularly when traveling overseas. It's usually the result of the change in time zones that throws off your body clock coupled with dietary changes and even some nerves from flying, etc.

If your irregular bowels were just from 'travel,' it's not
likely the problem would have persisted all through your stay, and you certainly should be back to normal by now.

What you are describing is not the same type of constipation. You're constipation during and after traveling sounds more like you picked up a parasite bug along the way and it is disrupting your normal digestion.

Strangely enough, I've had a number of questions in the last several weeks from people who either live in or were traveling through Spain and are having parasite problems.

You can certainly see a doctor if you feel it is necessary, but I think you would easily be able to rectify the problem by doing a gentle herbal cleanse to get rid of whatever bug you've picked up and taking some probiotics (good bacteria).

Get yourself a pot of Herbal Fiberblend and a bottle of Florafood and you should be fixed up in no time.

The Herbal Fiberblend contains 17 different herbs that are anti-parasitic and anti-fungal. It will help to remove whatever "nasty critter" you picked up and cleanse out your digestive tract.

The Florafood will boost the good bacteria numbers in your intestines so that your immune system is returned to its normal healthy state.

That should do the trick for you.

Personally, I'd use the Herbal Fiberblend for a full three months to give your body a thorough cleanse (just to be on the safe side), but I think you'll find that your constipation and bloating problems will dissipate very quickly.

Hope that helps. Keep us posted on your plight. :-)

To your good health!
