Do corn chips cause constipation?

Does white corn chips like Frito-Lay brands cause constipation?

Thanks!

Hi A,

Corn chips can definitely cause constipation in some people, particularly if they have trouble with gluten in their diet. An excess of processed foods do constipate those who have sensitive digestive systems.

On the other hand, corn chips can actually help relieve constipation for some people. It's crazy, I know, but we each have different food sensitivities.

If you are dealing with constipation, you can try to relieve it easily by drinking more water. That works well for many people.

If your problem is more severe, try some probiotics, or even a good quality colon cleanse.

I always keep some Herbal Fiberblend on hand so that if I start to get a little constipation or diarrhea I can take some right away and get rid of the problem very quickly.

I had a family reunion yesterday and ate far too much, and the food was setting out for quite awhile. As a result, today I'm feeling a little off and having very loose bowels. When I got home, I mixed up a bit of the Herbal Fiberblend and I know I'll be fine in the morning.

Just thought I'd let you know about the HFB, as it's been a great help to me and my family.

So, do corn chips cause constipation for you? I don't know. Maybe, maybe not. You'll have to test that one a few times to see if it was actually the corn chips or something else.

Sorry I can't be more specific for you. :-)

To your good health!
Angie
