I want to get a little constipated as I suffer with very loose stools.
I have always had a bad stomach, and at times, diarrhea. I take medicine that helps a lot, but I still find that stools are very messy.
It would be nice if I could go to the loo normally.
I steer clear of all the obvious, such as high fibre foods.
Hi Peter,
What is the cause of your "bad stomach?" Do you know? What kind of medicine are you taking for it? Does the medicine contribute to the loose stools or do you think they are the result of your stomach condition?
For many people, a thorough digestive cleanse using Herbal Fiberblend would be the best step in dealing with continual loose stools and stomach problems.
Although it may seem contradictory to be taking in more fibre when you already have loose stools, the herbs in the HFB work together to help clean out and heal the entire digestive tract and may be able to actually eliminate the underlying cause of your concern.
I can't say for sure if that would be the case in your particular individual situation, but it is certainly something that I would consider if I were in your position.
Of course, you should also be certain to drink plenty of water to keep yourself hydrated, as you are probably loosing a good bit of fluid in your eliminations.
answer to the question WHAT MEDICINE ARE YOU TAKING by: peter with the loose stools
Firstly I have had loose stools all my life and I am nearly seventy.
I take lots of drugs as I had a kidney transplant three years ago.
The drugs I take for my problem are LOPERAMIDE and CODIENE PHOSPHATE.
Medication for Diarrhea by: Angie
If I'm understanding you correctly, those two drugs you are specifically taking to try to treat diarrhea, but you are ALSO on various other medications because of your transplant. Is that right?
If that is the case, and you decide to try an herbal digestive cleanse, be sure to leave at least 1 hour between the time you use the herbal cleanse and the time you take your regular medications. Otherwise you may end up lessening the effect of your medications.
I assume you have consulted with your doctors and they haven't offered you any better solutions for dealing with your loose stools and improving your digestive health?
