Ways To Detox The Body

by Andrea
(Houston, Texas)

Is a vinegar bath one of the ways to detox the body?

Someone mentioned to me that you can take a warm bath and soak in the tub with apple cider vinegar and this will help you detox your body, is this true?

Hi Andrea,

Apple cider vinegar is very good for you and does have great detox properties, but I don't think it would be sufficient for a complete detox just by using it as part of your bath.

However, you can definitely receive some benefits from adding apple cider vinegar to your bath. The skin really is quite absorbent. ACV can soothe the skin, help heal irritations, and even help treat some skin parasites.

You want to be sure you are using good organic apple cider vinegar. That means the vinegar hasn't been distilled and is still cloudy with the "mother" in it.

A good idea is to also drink a glass of water each day with a Tablespoon of ACV in it. That will help you inside, too.

One of the best ways to detox the body that is much more effective and will work more quickly is an internal colon cleanse. I recommend everyone give themselves a yearly colon cleanse detox.

Hope that helps. Enjoy your bath! :)
To your good health!

Vinegar Bath vs. Colon Cleanse NEW
by: Angie

I think an apple cider vinegar bath is very nice as one of the ways to detox the body, but it isn't in the same category as a colon cleanse, as I mentioned earlier. You will receive some benefit from a vinegar bath, but not the same benefit as a healthy colon cleanse.

Bragg's is a good brand of ACV to use for your bath.

Your doctor is right. Certain types of colon cleanses will interfere with meds that you are taking. There are a variety of radical cleanses and detox programs. For instance, one asks you to completely fast from everything except lemon water, honey, and cayenne pepper, etc.

I'm not a big fan of those types of cleanses. Certain radical cleanses have their place, for sure. In cases where people are taking a completely natural approach to fighting off a particular disease, a major swift cleanse may be desirable as a starting poing.

I usually recommend that most people wanting to cleanse their system should use a natural herb and fiber colon cleanse that is gentle but thorough. It's called Herbal Fiberblend.

You can use HFB while taking prescription medications. The "secret" is to not take it at the same time of day. You need to leave at least 1 hour between the time you take Herbal Fiberblend and the time you take your medication, or even other vitamin supplements, etc.

Many people find that taking prescription medications makes their bowels start acting up, so they really need an herbal fiber supplement to help relieve their constipation. Herbal Fiberblend is ideal for that purpose even if you doon't use it as a full colon cleanse, but just to help keep you regular.

I hope that clarifies things a bit for you. There are different ways to detox the body, but ultimately, you'll have to decide for yourself which is the best and most effective method for you in your situation.

To your good health!
