The Swine Flu Vaccine

Is it the right choice for you?

swine flu vaccine

Is the swine flu vaccine right for you and your family?

What happens if you get sick as a result of the h1n1 vaccine?

Are there any other options besides the swine flu shot to help prevent this flu bug?

Are these questions you've been asking yourself in recent months? There's been a lot of talk about a new vaccine to help combat the so-called, swine flu epidemic.

Before you make your decision, it's important that you know a few basic facts about the vaccine for swine flu that is being recommended.

First of all, be aware that this new vaccine is completely untested. There is no guarantee...

  • ...that the vaccine is effective.
  • ...that you won't suffer serious side effects.
  • ...that the vaccine is safe.

Actually, it's even worse than that. Apparently the government, via the Secretary of Health and Human Services, Kathleen Sebelius, has decided to grant legal immunity to vaccine makers and federal officers. Do you know what that means?

Should those who volunteer to get the swine flu shot end up suffering serious side effects (or worse) after getting the swine flu vaccine, they have no recourse for compensation.

This cavalier decision gives the pharmaceutical companies a tremendous amount of leeway in delivering untested concoctions that will fill their coffers, regardless of the harm they may do to the average unsuspecting and fear ridden individual. Personally, I think it's unconscionable, but many people will be willing to take the risk because of the constant media promotion.

What is the alternative to the swine flu vaccine?

Instead of succumbing to the fear and propaganda that is being bombarded at you, you have a choice. You can choose to approach the swine flu in a more natural and practical manner.

  1. Practice more careful personal hygiene on a daily basis. I'm not normally a big fan of using antibacterial soaps all the time. They can actually weaken your immune system when your body does not have the opportunity to build up some natural resistance to the everyday germs you come in contact with.

However, during flu season, and when you've been in public places, it's a good idea to make it a habit to carefully wash your hands with anti-bacterial soap or use one of the alcohol based disinfectant gels that have become so popular.

Encourage your children to use a handkerchief or tissue when sneezing or coughing to help reduce the spreading of germs. These are the basic rules you'd practice during any normal flu season.

  2. Boost your immune system with healthy supplements. Vitamin C, antioxidants, probiotics, and cleansing herbs are all excellent choices to help keep your own natural immune system strong and ready to fend off marauding flu viruses. You won't have to worry unhealthy side effects to deal with either!

  3. Get more nutrition every day! Your body produces healthier cells when it gets good quality nutrition from the food you eat. Most of us have a tendency to eat far too many prepackaged foods and foods that have very poor nutritional values.

A lack of good nutrition, weakens your immune system and leaves you more vulnerable to infection. If a diet rich in nutrition from quality whole foods is difficult for you to maintain, consider adding some whole food supplement powders to your daily routine like the Garden Trio and LeafGreens.

Preventive maintenance is always better than trying to cure after the fact. But choose your preventive maintenance wisely. I can't tell you NOT to get the swine flu vaccine. That choice is yours and yours alone. I can only warn you of the possible risks and remind you of the safe alternatives.

To your good health!
