Acidosis

by Lisa
(Indiana)

I am taking medication and getting blood checked monthly for metabolic acidosis. I feel my body has become way off whack.

I also feel my female parts are way off balance and also feel I am "burning" my husband with intercourse due to the off balance nature of everything.

I need to see what is going on and get this straightened out. I must continue on the medications since it is to decrease brain swelling and intracranial pressure.

I am losing weight (24 lbs so far) and attempting to be healthier. But I need more help.

What should I do to test initially? What colon cleansers should I use? What foods should I eat to balance?

Sure do appreciate any help you are able to offer.

Thank you!
Lisa

Hi Lisa,

Let me start by saying congratulations on the weight loss so far! That's a real achievement. Take it from someone who knows first hand. :) Keep up the good work in that area.

Regarding the metabolic acidosis, it's true that having too much acid in the various body fluids can negatively affect your health. Of course we want stomach acid to properly digest our food, but this is different, as I'm sure you must be aware already.

There are some simple things you can do to help with the acidic levels in your vaginal fluid. Buy a bottle of Bragg's organic apple cider vinegar (health food section of most grocery stores and also at most health food shops - also available at Puritan's Pride if you can't find it locally).

You can make your own homemade douche/rinse for your vagina by combining the ACV with water and rinsing the area daily and particularly before intercourse.

You might find it easier to fill a spray bottle and leave it in the bathroom to
give yourself a good spritz when you relieve yourself throughout the day.

Another good idea to overcome acidosis and encourage pH balance in the body is to actually DRINK a glass of water each day with a tablespoon of the apple cider vinegar in it. (This can help with the weight loss too!)

As for foods, check out the list of foods for a pH Balance Diet and choose foods that are more alkaline and less acidic.

I find it quite helpful to use whole food supplement powders to assist me in fighting acidosis and maintaining proper pH. The two I use are Leaf Greens and BarleyLife.

You would only really take the Leaf Greens once per day, but the BarleyLife can be taken 2-3 times per day (several hours apart) to keep the body alkaline.

A cleanse is an excellent idea and I'm glad you already thought of it. I would also recommend the cleanse that I use, Herbal Fiberblend. It's excellent, thorough, and mild enough to use long term.

If you decide to give any of those three a try, use the US order form and I'll send you complete instructions on how to proceed in order to get the best results.

You asked about testing for acidosis. There are pH balance test strips that you can purchase to test your pH at home. You can use them to test the pH level of both your saliva and your urine and monitor your progress. They are also available through the US order form above.

Okay, I hope I've covered all of your questions. Do let me know if I can be of further help.

Sincerely hoping that your condition with the brain swelling, etc, will be alleviated and that you will soon be in excellent health.

Blessings,
Angie
