Do I have parasites even though I have been tested for them?

Here's my question... Do I have parasites even though I have been tested for them?

Over the last few months I have dealt with digestive issues. I have always had a sensitive digestive system but after a car accident in Feb 09 and in the midst of my final exams in university I developed these severe stomach pains that sometimes felt more intestinal like.

I know I was stressed and after the symptoms began I was experiencing more anxiety and fatigue...

...just to note I had blood work done a couple months prior to the accident and everything was normal except my iron level which was an 8 and the Dr told me to go on Iron supps but I haven’t maintained a daily intake so I don’t know what my levels are now...

...I began to eat less because everything I ate caused me to experience extreme gas (belching gas) and bloating...

My bowel movements were sometimes normal, sometimes constipated, and sometimes loose...

I also started to develop allergies and didn't think this was related but I had no known allergies previous...

I began experiencing seasonal allergies and then allergies to pesticides on fresh fruits or veggies...

Anyways, I read up on parasites because I thought I may have caught something from my indoor/outdoor cats...and I read the symptoms and decided to try a parasite colon cleanse which made my pain and digestive issues much worse I think because of the increased stomach acid to rid the parasites...

So, I stopped the cleanse after 3 days and went to my Dr and I gave a stool sample to test for parasites and nothing abnormal came back...but my Dr put me on Zantac 150mg BID...

The pain became less but I didn't want to stay on it indefinitely so I was able to only take them as needed...

I have been taking a liquid Ca Mg which helped me stop taking the Zantac...but I still experience the sharp pains, the gas, and bloating at times. I believe it's due to the food I may eat...

But what has me concerned now is that I have been seeing white chunks in my stools which at first I believed were just undigested food but I'm still noticing it and today I explored one closer and it looked like a piece of pasta and others looked like small pieces of wet tissue even though I'm sure they were not...

So that's the gist of it...I'm not on any other medications; I only take multi-vitamins/minerals daily with omega 3,6, and 9, and I
take my Ca&Mg with Zinc and Vit D liquid...

I know I don't drink enough water and my diet is not always the healthiest...I try and eat low carb in general (but haven’t in the last couple months)...my exercise is off and on and lately has been not so much because of school...

I'm 23 and 130lbs and have not noticed significant changes in my weight over the past few months except the approximate few lbs I lost before...

Besides those mentioned above I have no other significant concerns ...Can you pleaase advise me? Anytime you can provide on my behalf is much appreciated!

Hi Elisa,

It definitely sounds like your digestive issues are likely to be parasite related. Even though you have been tested for parasites, that doesn't mean you don't have them. :)

Unfortunately, parasites can be difficult to diagnose in a stool sample without repeated tests.

Based on your description of events and symptoms, you may have more than one underlying cause going on. In addition to parasites, the stress you have been under will also exhibit itself in stomach and intestinal issues.

I wonder what parasite cleanse you were using that you increased the acid in your system? A good cleanse quite often MAY cause you to feel worse before you feel better, but not from increasing your acid.

The die-off of the parasites increases the toxins in your system temporarily until the body can flush them. You could potentially experience flu-like symptoms off and on as you are cleansing.

I would recommend using Herbal Fiberblend as a gentle cleanse that will give your entire digestive tract a good clean out. Persevere for more than a few days (I strongly suggest a 3 month cleanse).

Cleansing with HFB is not at all difficult to add to your daily routine. You just mix HFB twice per day in water or juice.

I would also suggest that you get some Florafood to build up the good bacteria in you intestines and also some digestive enzymes, like Prepzymes to help eliminate the pain and discomfort you are feeling when you eat.

I'm glad you aren't relying on Zantac and only taking it when you feel you have to. There is nothing at all healing in Zantac and only causes more problems in the long run.

I think if you try those three recommendations, you'll be feeling better again before you know it. I'd love to hear back from you after you've tried those supplements to know how they've helped you.

To your good health!
