I need some menopause relief!
My doctor confirmed that I am indeed in menopause via a hormone panel.
I can handle the hot flashes.....it's the horrible mood swings that are driving me nuts. I just do not feel like myself and sometimes it gets to the point where I don't even know if I'm happy or sad!!!!!
The extreme agitation is also very hard to deal with. I feel like I have no patience with things I normally do. Like I just want to shut myself off from the world because it will only irritate me more!
I asked my doctor about progesterone cream and he shoo'ed the idea and said it doesn't work.
I am on antidepressants Lexapro which he said should help with these mood swings and I guess to some degree they have somewhat......but I still don't feel right.
I wish I knew how long this would last. The crashing fatigue is another factor that is hard to deal with. It feels like a total body shut-down.
Used to be I could "roll with it" when I was tired......not no more.....I can barely keep my eyes opened or even focus properly when this fatigue hits me.
I guess the most frustrating thing is that I feel as though I have no control over my body.
You have my sincere sympathies! Many women experience the same symptoms during menopause that you are going through.
Unfortunately, many doctors are uneducated in regards to the benefits of using good quality natural progesterone.
If you have a library near you, you may want to borrow one of the books by Dr. John Lee on the subject of "What Your Doctor May Not Tell You About Menopause." It is very informative.
In my opinion, antidepressants are not the solution. There is nothing in an antidepressant that helps to balance your hormones so your symptoms are not being relieved. At the best, they will be masked to some extent.
The bad side of antidepressants is the negative side effects that most people experience. They can be horrible.
Using natural progesterone cream has no negative side effects that I am aware of and is well worth trying to give you some natural menopause relief.
It's inexpensive and I genuinely feel it would be a help to you.
