Please help with this terrible scalp condition I'm battling...

I have been suffering from a terrible scalp condition now for over seven months.

First, it looked like I was losing my hair in certain places on my scalp. Then all of my hair started sticking to my head. I would pull it away but it would stick right back.

Whatever it is produces a sticky substance and circles around my hair. It has moved down my neck and back taking my hair with it.

I have very long hair. My hair falls out and has become very brittle. I have not felt my actual scalp or seen my part in my scalp now for seven months or longer.

I have been to numerous emergency rooms, dermatologists, and an infectious disease doctor. I don't think anyone knows what it is.

I was all but fired from my job because everyone was afraid they were going to catch it.

Oh yeah, and it can disguise itself as my skin.

Please help me. I am desperate!

What is it? How can I get rid of it? Should I shave my head? Is it contagious? I have a son.

Thanks,
DB

Dear DB,
Your terrible scalp condition does sound very strange indeed. I guess the question that comes to mind is whether your issue is something internal or external.

It's difficult to determine at times because so many external symptoms are the result of an internal issue - whether it is a parasite infection, a hormone imbalance, a fungal overgrowth, or a deficiency of some essential vitamins or nutrients.

Your description of your condition certainly makes me think you need to tackle this issue from the inside as well as the outside.

I can't tell you what
it is you are dealing with, but I can certainly give you some good suggestions on what you can do about it.

Keep in mind that I'm not a doctor, so these suggestions are simply what I would do in your situation.

Are you ready to tackle it full steam ahead?

External:
Soak your hair and scalp thoroughly in a mixture of sea salt, clove oil, and water. If you have a bathtub, just opt for a whole body soak! Do this daily, if possible.

Internal:
This is probably even more important than the external treatment, so please do take it seriously.

By cleansing internally and boosting your immune system, you can eliminate parasites and get your body back in balance.

If you're battling stress due to this terrible scalp condition and all that it has meant to your life, having trouble sleeping, etc., you might also want to get some Composure as that will help.

Are you contagious? Maybe. Bacteria, fungi, and parasites are definitely easily passed from person to person, so your concern is valid.

I wouldn't wait and simply hope the problem will eventually go away. That's not likely. You really do need to be aggressive in actively trying to eliminate the underlying cause.

I don't think that shaving your head is the solution. You'll have to make your own decisions, of course, but I would be more inclined to think that you would simply be delaying the inevitable. The hair will grow back and if the underlying problem isn't dealt with you'll be right back where you started.

Please let me know if I can be of further help.
Blessings,
